6 Myths About Fascia Blaster Damage & Bruising
Myth #1: FasciaBlasting causes bruising
TRUE ✅ YES, FasciaBlasting can cause bruising. But it is for a good cause. Not everyone has bruises, and bruising is not the goal. However, if your fascia is not healthy, you can expect to bruise until the fascia is restored(1), and you might bruise again if you reach new and deep layers - but by then, you will be excited because you will have already experienced the healing benefits* of FasciaBlaster bruises. We’re here to help you every step of the way, going layer by layer and minimizing bruising. It’s also super important to understand what fascia is and why you are blasting before understanding fascia-related bruises. We recommend our What is Fascia blog to get the bigger picture before you dive into side effects. You can read it here.
You’ve probably seen some results, and Fasciablaster claims from real users about their experience and are here to get to the bottom of it! Are you intrigued by the opportunity to improve your health and appearance by increasing the health of your fascia? But have you heard that bruising can be common when disrupting existing, unhealthy fascia?
We are educating you on the meaning behind the bruise. Look at the ultrasound imaging, where we can see the fascia remodelling1 over 90 days. These are medically published images, so no “good angels” or “light tricks” here!
Myth #2: The FasciaBlaster Causes “Harmful” Bruising
FALSE ❌ Some claim that the FasciaBlaster causes “harmful” bruising, equating bruising with injury, but that is an incomplete picture of what is actually going on below the surface with your fascia. FasciaBlaster bruises are not from injury to healthy tissue.
In our peer-reviewed scientific study, researchers studying the effects of Fascia Blasting reported bruising as a side effect. Bruising is common as the fascia is regenerating until it is healthy.
Bruises are not necessarily harmful in terms of skincare; they are a visual reminder of positive change happening under the surface and at the cellular level. When pressure is applied to the area of stagnation, small capillaries that supply the tissue may leak, leading to bruising. This bruise signals that there is now blood flow to a previously stagnant area3, which is normal and expected. The exact same thing happens when you use ancient techniques such as cupping and Gua Sha.
Short-term inflammation is due to the body’s natural response to microtrauma. The tissue heals with increased blood flow and more supple fibers. So, while you may see bruising at the surface, restoration and rejuvenation are taking place within.4
What exactly happens during the fascia remodeling1 process? When the fascia blaster is applied, it exerts pressure on areas of stagnated blood flow. Remember that the bruises are not blunt trauma bruises; and they are temporary and do not cause clotting or other issues. In fact, most say even if the bruises are tender to the touch, they generally feel a sense of release.
“I am happy to report I HAVE FINALLY BROKEN THROUGH ON MY LEGS!!! I have actual real-deal bruising y'all! That masterblaster is a powerful tool! Why is this exciting??? It means I'm opening deeper layers of fascia that need the love! These bruises are painless and even a different color from an injury bruise.”*
“Don’t be afraid of the bruising! I bruise like a peach on a normal day, just stay nice and light to see how your personal tissue responds; this phase doesn't last forever. 🙌 I know that this is just part of the process, and this is where the magic happens. Healthy Fascia doesn't bruise!* 😁”
In fact, the presence of these bruises is a positive sign! It's a signal that your body is responding, and the short-term inflammation that accompanies the process is part of your body's natural response to microtrauma.
Myth #3: The Fascia Blaster Makes Cellulite Worse
FALSE ❌ We have to answer this question with a resounding…Umm, Hell no! FasciaBlasting does not make cellulite worse! Although sometimes initially, if you have beyond cellulite, one of the 4 types of cellulite, Fascia Blasting can break up large clumpy adhesions and make large globs look “bumpier,” this is a temporary effect and part of your body's natural response. Rome wasn't built in a day, honey, and restoring fascia is the same way. Stay consistent. Ninety days is your magic timeframe. So don’t give up. Every single woman in the study saw amazing results in 90 days, but the process might be a little messy. It’s just like cleaning out your closet; you gotta drag everything out before you can put it all back together.
Truth: Fascia Blasting Has Scientifically Proven To Reduce The Appearance of Cellulite1*
They didn’t “self-report” their results; the scientists were double-blinded and coordinated photos randomly to the Cellulite Severity Scale. Just check out the pics of the study. It’s time to let this debate go… It’s game set match for the FasciaBlaster. In fact, studies have shown significant milestones, brought about by FasciaBlasting, in both reducing cellulite and the ability to spot reduce subcutaneous fat cells.(1)
OK, back to the peer-reviewed clinical study that examined the effects of FasciaBlasting on cellulite. In this study, participants used the fascia blaster 3-5 times a week for 20-30 minutes over a 90-day period. Ultrasound images taken before and after the study showed significant progress in remodeling the fascia tissue. The fibrous bands responsible for the dimpled appearance of the skin were visibly improved- transitioning from thick and disorganized to thin and organized; this is called collagen remodeling.
Myth #4: The Fascia Blaster Causes Sagging Skin
FALSE ❌ Some people babble about sagging skin on internet forums, but sagging skin is in total opposition to what science teaches us about skin.
Truth: Fascia Blasting Increases The Production Of Collagen (2)
The idea that the FasciaBlaster causes sagging skin is misinformation - and actually a little crazy. In fact, the FasciaBlaster promotes the production of collagen1*. Collagen is responsible for maintaining the firmness and elasticity of the skin, and its reduction is often associated with the improvement of sagging and wrinkles.
FasciaBlasting has shown a measurable increase in PICP markers, which are vital for skin, muscle, bone, and connective tissue structure. (1) Fascia remodeling restores collagen fibers, making them more supple and firm. (1)
As the fascia is remodeled and collagen fibers are restored, the skin becomes more supple and regains its youthful appearance. FasciaBlasters also provide pressure (2) to the tissue, which has also proven (2) to release stem cells from the Stem Cell Reservoir into the skin. So, this not only counters sagging but also contributes to overall skin health.
So, if you've heard concerns about sagging skin, rest assured that the FasciaBlaster* may help improve the skin’s firmness and elasticity through the stimulation of collagen production and the release of stem cells. (1)(2)

Myth #6: The Fascia Blaster Causes Weight Gain
FALSE ❌ We’ve also seen the strange claim that Fascia Blasting causes weight gain. How does this myth hold up in light of scientific evidence?
Truth: The Fascia Blaster* Has Been Shown To Decrease
Subcutaneous Fat and Increase Metabolism1
It's essential to clarify that any perceived weight gain is not due to the FasciaBlaster. With our poisoned food supply and toxic environment, ⅔ of the American population is gaining weight. But it isn't because of FasciaBlasting. Fasciablasting (1) proved to spot reduce fat at the blasted site AND increase metabolism. So, this scientific evidence is inconsistent with weight gain.
Fascia Blasting can cause temporary fluid retention and inflammation. But this encourages the development of healthy tissue throughout the body. (3) Additionally, a recent article suggests that the microbiome may play a role in weight gain as well as dysfunctional fascia. Lending thought to using the FasciaBlaster can actually help to help address those issues.
Although FasciaBlaster does NOT promote FasciaBlasting as a weight loss technique, healthy fascia is always a good thing. Learn more about fascia here.
